REI Co-op’s sale periods are a great way to score deals on leading outdoor products from some of the best brands in the business. Their Member Moment Sale runs from March 14-24 this year and comes with two primary coupons: one for 20% off one full-priced item and one for 20% off any REI Outlet product. Note: A membership is required to take advantage of some of the deals (including the coupons), which costs $30 for a lifetime enrollment and comes with a variety of other benefits, including discounts on shop services and rentals, the ability to buy and trade used gear, and much more. Below we outline the dates and details of the sale, our favorite discounted items, a few recommendations for your 20% off coupon, and how to shop both in-store and online.

Editor’s note: This article has been sponsored by REI, but the picks and descriptions below were made independently and based on our experiences with and opinions of the products.

Pacsafe EXP45 Carry-On Travel Pack: 25% Off

Pacsafe EXP45 Carry-On Travel PackTravel can be an exhausting endeavor, especially if you’re constantly worried about your luggage or valuables getting stolen. That’s why anti-theft designs like Pacsafe’s EXP45 are becoming increasingly common, particularly for international trips. Like most of Pacsafe’s offerings, the EXP45 is packed with protective features, from cut-resistant materials to lockable and puncture-resistant double zippers and built-in stainless steel cable locks. Importantly, these are nicely integrated and don’t detract too heavily from the Pacsafe's functionality as a travel pack—it’s still well organized with ample interior and exterior pockets and compression straps, offers multiple carry options, and is carry-on compliant. For a cheaper and lighter option that doesn’t skimp on safety features, we also like Pacsafe’s Go 44L, although frequent travelers will likely prefer the more premium EXP45.

All of Woom’s bikes feature quality components from reputable brands, and we appreciate that REI offers a year of free adjustments plus in-store assembly to make the buying process easier.

Our Recommendations for Your 20% Off Coupon

As we covered above, members receive two primary coupons to this year’s Member Moment Sale: one for 20% off one full-priced item and one for 20% off any REI Outlet product. Given this sale’s focus on gear from just a handful of brands, we’ve compiled a short list below of some of our favorite products from other manufacturers that aren’t discounted but are eligible for 20% off with your full-priced item coupon. For more of our top picks, check out our hiking, backpacking, and camping gear reviews.

Yeti Roadie 32 Wheeled Cooler ($280 w/ coupon)

Yeti Roadie 32 wheeled coolerYeti is practically synonymous with hard-sided coolers, and their Roadie line is right up there with the flagship Tundra when it comes to quality and performance. The lineup has expanded significantly in recent years and now features five models: two non-wheeled options (the Roadie 15 and Roadie 24) and three wheeled coolers (the Roadie 32, 48, and 60). Each capacity has its appeal, but we think the wheeled Roadie 32 hits a real sweet spot in terms of size and portability. Like the rest of Yeti’s hard-sided coolers, the Roadie is highly durable with a rotomolded build, well insulated for keeping food and beverages cold for days, and has the sleek and streamlined look that Yeti is known for. Yeti didn’t skimp on the details either, including reliable and easy-to-operate latches, quality wheels that roll smoothly over most surfaces, and an upright shape that can fit wine and 2-liter soda bottles upright. You certainly pay a steep premium for the quality and performance, but $70 off is a sizable savings for a Yeti.

Exped MegaMat Duo Sleeping Pad ($336 w/ coupon)

Exped MegaMat Duo sleeping padCamping gear has gotten pretty luxurious of late, and Exped’s MegaMat Duo two-person sleeping mat is a case in point. In sum, the MegaMat combines the dimensions of a full-size air bed with the cushy comfort of a self-inflating foam pad. The 4-inch-thick cushioning effectively isolates you from the cold and hard ground below, the pad is nicely insulated for year-round use with an R-value of 8.1, and the intuitive double-valve system makes inflation and deflation pretty painless (Exped also sells the handy Mega Pump for extra assistance). In fact, we’ve even used the MegaMat as a backup bed for guests at home (with no complaints to date). It’s a sizable purchase at $420 MSRP (and $370 for the smaller Medium Duo size), but this is a great time to save some serious cash. The MegaMat is also available in a standard, one-person version for $240 to $260 depending on size.

Big Agnes Copper Spur UL2 Tent ($440 w/ coupon)

Big Agnes Copper Spur UL2 tentBig Agnes’ Copper Spur has been our top-rated backpacking tent for years running thanks to its class-leading balance of weight, interior space, and features. The two-person capacity combines a healthy 29 square feet of floor space, solid headroom with pre-bent poles and steep walls, and two doors and vestibules—all at a very competitive 3 pounds. All of the smaller details are equally well sorted, including substantial zippers, thoughtful interior storage, reflective guylines and webbing, and easy adjustments to get a taut and even pitch. The dual vestibules also convert to awnings (trekking poles required), which is a nice touch for lounging around camp. Taken together, it’s the complete package for weight-conscious backpackers who don’t want to totally eschew all creature comforts—we’re looking at you, thru-hikers.

Patagonia Men’s R1 Air and Women’s R1 Air Full-Zip Hoody ($144 w/ coupon)

Patagonia R1 Air Full-Zip HoodyPatagonia’s fleece collection is wide and varied, with the R1 Air Full-Zip Hoody slotting in as one of their more technical pieces. Built to maximize breathability without totally compromising on warmth, Patagonia utilized an innovative fabric that uses hollow-fiber yarns and zig-zag patterning to trap heat when you want it and dump it when you don’t. We’ve worn the R1 Air for everything from shoulder-season backpacking to backcountry skiing and winter climbing and have found it to be impressively well balanced. And with three streamlined zip pockets, off-shoulder seams for comfort while carrying a pack, and a low-profile hood, it’s fully functional as a standalone piece, too.

REI Co-op Flexlite Camp Dreamer Chair ($80 w/ coupon)

REI Co-op Flexlite Camp Dreamer ChairREI dominates the camping chair market, and their Flexlite line is particularly well sorted. The collection runs the gamut from the basic Flexlite Air Stool to the fully featured Flexlite Camp Dreamer Chair featured here. There’s a lot to like about the design: It features a tall backrest and slightly reclined seat that are comfortable and supportive, comes well equipped with a removable pillow and mesh pockets at both sides, and is very manageable to carry at just 3 pounds 7 ounces. It’s also relatively easy to set up and pack away thanks to the pre-attached poles. For the same price, we also like REI’s Flexlite Air Chair, which is light enough to tote into the backcountry at just 1 pound (although the Camp Dreamer handily wins out in comfort).

Other Details on the REI Co-op Member Moment Sale

As we covered above, REI’s Member Moment Sale runs from March 14 through 24 this year, and there are a few ways to shop. If you live near a brick-and-mortar REI, you can shop in store. This is a great way to try on gear and clothing in person and make sure you’re getting the right fit. If an item is not in stock at your store, a sales representative can place the order for you online—you’ll have the option of picking it up in store or having it shipped to your home address. Alternatively, you can go online and make your purchases either on REI.com or through the REI Outlet. Shipping is free on orders over $60 (members get free shipping regardless of the total), and you also have the option of sending your order to your local store for free pickup. However you choose to shop, all items are covered by REI’s 100% Satisfaction Guarantee and can be returned either by mail or in store within one year of purchase for members (non-members have a 90-day return window).

In addition to discounting gear by up to 35%, REI is providing each member with two 20%-off coupons for new items: One provides a discount on a full-price item (with some exclusions) and the other can be used at the REI Outlet (online only). If you’re shopping online, entering the MEMBER2025 code at checkout will automatically apply the discount to the highest full-price and Outlet items in your cart, so be sure to shop accordingly to maximize the savings. Importantly, certain products are exempt from the sale, including bike simulators, ski and snowboard equipment, kayaks, canoes, rafts, GPS-equipped electronics, and more. The coupons also won’t work on sale products, clearance items, or used gear (if you’re a member and willing to shop used, use the code USED2025 for 20% off through REI’s Re/Supply program). For a full list of exclusions, you can view REI’s details on the sale here under “terms and conditions.”
